4th Gen iPhone Cases Appear

Accessory manufacturers are beginning to ramp up production of cases for the iPhone 4G or iPhone HD – we still don’t know! The designs all feature the rounded edges and additional space for the flash that is coupled with the camera. Overall they pretty much match the leaked iPhone prototypes that we’ve seen.

While this isn’t solid evidence that the prototypes we saw are the final design for the iPhone, it shows that manufacturers are confident enough that it will be the final design to go ahead and make cases for it. Either that or it’s the manufacturers looking to jump in ahead of the competition, or maybe they know something we don’t?

Use Your iPhone To Control This Thermostat

In a report published today by PCMag, iPhone users found out there is a new gadget out there meant to improve the comfort in their homes: Nest Learning Thermostat.
The device is programmable by iPhone and looks like an iPod with the well-known click wheel. Understandably, if we think that Nest co-founder is Tony Fandell, one of the lead minds involved in iPod’s creation. Nest Thermostat is a round metal dial with a circular color LCD screen that allows the users to adjust temperature by twisting the wheel or by pressing it like a button. It can be programmed to automatically change the temperature according to a predefined schedule.
But if it is too much bother for the user to adjust the settings all the time, Nest Thermostat is Learning, as its name shows. The device draws its own conclusions from the settings used during a week, tracking all the temperature changes, remembers these settings and automatically does the changes later on.

A special feature allows the users notice if the temperature is in save energy mode, as in this case a green leaf appears on the display. In addition, an Auto-Away setting kicks in prolonged users’ absence and lowers the heating or the cooling. The display shows heating and cooling active with red or blue colours. The installation is supposed to take about 20 minutes by the average user, so no professional help is required.
But, the best feature is Nest Learning Thermostat’s ability to connect to home Wi-Fi network to allow users to program it with their smartphone, tablet or computer.
This new gadget is available next month for the recommended price of $249. Nest site already encourages interested users to pre-order their smart thermostat.

The iPhone 5 Has Already Got Accessories Out On The Market

Nothing has been given more attention lately than the rumors about the eagerly awaited launch of the new iPhone 5. No one knows when exactly it will come out, what it will be called, what its features will be. Actually, no one knows whether it will come out at all.
So far, Apple has been silent and remains to be so. But having no clear information, is not an issue for some companies looking to quickly profit from the rumors. One great such example is the companies which have already started selling accessories for the new phone. Whether just marketing a simple skin, or a docking station, there are some who are hoping that people will take the rumors regarding the iPhone 5’s launch to heart and start getting ready to welcome the new arrival.

Anything new in the accessories department? Something that will make the accessories for the iPhone 5 stand out from the others? Nothing so far. The same skins, same screen protectors, same holsters and docking stations. Yes, the choice of skins is huge. Models vary massively to give customers a great variety according to their personal traits, mood or choice of lifestyle.
Of course, one shouldn’t forget that the skins do not offer any screen cover, so also get a screen protector while you’re at it. No “compatibility” issues there, since most skins go over the screen protector, giving your phone the perfect combination of style and protection.
So if you also believe the rumors and eagerly await the launch of the new iPhone and want to be ready to deck it out right out of the box, now you can. Just go out and choose whichever accessories suit you best.

iPhone To Support Nikon and Canon Photo Lenses

Since its launch, the iPhone has received a whole bunch of extras, attachments and apps to make the users’ experience as varied and enjoyable as possible.
The latest such attachment is something called the iPhone SLR Mount. This will serve as a link between the iPhone and a SLR photo lens. Usability is very simple, as the Mount acts as a case, in which you can slide your phone. You can then attach the actual lens and be on your way.
Let’s not forget however that the photo world is split into two major, rivaling groups. Therefore, in order to accommodate for the photo-fanatic’s own personal taste in camera equipment, the SLR mount comes in two versions, one for Canon lenses and the other for Nikon. This will enable the phone to use basically any Nikon lens, either older or newer, or, if you prefer Canon, you can mount any of your favorite lenses produced since the 1980s. This should cover most users’ preference.

When designing the Mount, Apple has considered the fact that you, of course, cannot take out the phone’s own lens. Consequently, the mount was built with its own focusing screen of which the phone takes a normal picture (clear and focused, albeit upside down).
The big problem, as with most of Apple’s products is, of course, the price. For the price of one SLR Mount, a photographer, either amateur or professional, could easily just buy lenses for his camera.
Another issue the new Mount might face is the fact that the day-to-day mobile phone users might find carrying a big, uncomfortable photo lens around a bit of a problem. When one bought an iPhone because it is slim and light, it’s hard to believe that they would want to burden themselves with additional equipment which they may or may not use.

Flaunt Your Photos with New iPhone Cases

The standard iPhone casing has a primary purpose of protecting your phone. There are many designs and styles that you can choose from thus you are not only protecting your phone but following the trend as well. Who says you can’t make your iPhone part of your fashion?
There is one type of iPhone case however that stands out among the choices – putting your photos as part of the protective skin. However, this too is divided into two different types namely:
  • Photos that has been embedded in a clear plastic to prevent damage
  • Hard case with photos molded on plastic wrapping from back to sides
The second choice is trendier nowadays because your photos become part of the entire casing and this is from Uncommon.

This Uncommon case for iPhone definitely hogs the attention of many consumers. These cases are highly customizable. You choose the specific case and configure the cases on their customizing screen. You will upload your photos with a minimum size of 2000 by 2000 pixels.
Through their customizing screen, you get to adjust, resize and rotate the photo to fit the case in whatever way you want. Uncommon wants to give your iPhone a more personalized touch as you imbed the design and color on the plastic itself to prevent scratching off. With the Uncommon case, you get to choose between the Deflector and the Capsule.
The Capsule case allows you to slide the iPhone into it. It also has an end cap which you can remove if you want to charge the phone. The Deflector on the other hand is more like a “snap on, snap off” design though it is easier to snap on than to get it off the iPhone. This design allows you to get rid of your worries that the iPhone will pop off from the case if you accidentally drop it.
The Uncommon website has user-friendly interface basically because you only have to choose a few models of cases.
If you want to personalize your iPhone further and make your photos your own design for the cases, Uncommon can give you exactly what you need. With it, you design your phone’s casing thus you are in control of what your phone will look like. You can flaunt your photos as you carry your iPhone anytime and anywhere.
Uncommon cases will reflect exactly who you really are. It is trendy, fashionable, personalized and more importantly – it looks more YOU.

Teen Can’t Wait For Apple, Orders White iPhone 4 Direct From Foxconn

It looks like the white iPhone 4 is pretty much dead, with no sign of it coming back. But for 17-year-old Fei Lam, the months of anticipation were too much to wait for Apple’s much-rumored white iPhone 4. , Lam a high school senior from Queens, decided to give the fans what they wanted–and made more than $130,000 in the process!
He used his head and realised there could be good money in this since demand is so strong. He made attempts to skip Apple and directly contacted the company’s supplier, Foxconn.
“I knew a guy from a few years back that had somewhat of a relationship with folks in Foxconn,” Lam, who speaks fluent Chinese, told The Observer.
After he arranged orders for the white iPhone 4 conversion kit and went and created Whiteiphone4now.com and sold the parts for between $135 and $279. Of course the site went viral and Apple aren’t too happy about it.
I got an email from a private investigator accusing me of selling stolen goods, which I’m 100 percent sure is not the case. They are some kind of anti-counterfeit/trademark firm, which sounds ridiculous, similar to what Apple is bringing up to remove White iPhone 4 Listings on eBay. I don’t know how this legal stuff works…
There are a couple of other sellers online and somehow I’m the ‘focus’ of it all. I think this guy is just trying to scare me into stop selling on behalf of Apple.
So if you want to get your hands on a white iPhone 4, even if its not from Apple, check out that site, cause there doesn’t seem to be any sign of it coming from Apple.

The Eco Friendly iPhone 4 Case You’ve Been Waiting For

We have shown off a couple of cases here for the iPhone 4, some that double you’re battery life, some that look like food, and even some that disguise your iPhone as a book, but this is the first one we’ve had that’s eco friendly.
At first glance it looks ok, and from hands on reviews it seems to be made of pretty sturdy stuff. Also that kickstand looks pretty handy. So why is it so eco friendly? Well apparently it’s made from recycled bottles, so that must make it cheaper right? I’m afraid not, it will set you back a steep $39.99, you can take $5 off that if you don’t want the kickstand.
Oh and it only comes in black – you can pick one up from here
