We’re still not sure as to what the name of the Next Gen iPhone will be, but iPhone HD has been thrown around there and this new information could add a whole lot of meaning to that name.
The iPhone 4.0 Beta SDK reveals some interesting lines of code. Hidden away are these two lines of code which relate to video recording.
AVCaptureSessionPreset640x480
AVCaptureSessionPreset1280x720
AVCaptureSessionPreset1280x720
The second line is the one we’re interested in most, 1280 x 720 is the resolution that 720p HD video is recorded in. While the Next Generation iPhone is set to have a 5 Megapixel Camera, we don’t know what it’s hardware specs will be, but more than likely 720p HD video recording is on the cards.
I mean why would Apple supply this information in SDK’s if it wasn’t true? It’s hardly an accident.
