Apple Confirms iOS 4.1 Release Date For September 8th

Apple have gone ahead and confirmed with us that the iOS 4.1 software update for the iPhone will be coming out on September 8th, for UK customers at least.

The US website still says “Coming Soon” and hasn’t committed to a date as of yet, but I don’t see why Apple would do a staggered roll out of this. What this also means is Apple’s new line of iPods will also become available with the new firmware.
It’s hoped that iOS 4.1 will fix the proximity sensor issue, bluetooth troubles as well as speeding up the iPhone 3G, we’ll find out for sure on Wednesday anyway.
