Rumors Leaks Official News Carriers iPhone Issues Hints & Tips Discussion Apps iPhone Accessories Apple iOS Other Ahead of iPhone 5 Launch, Mac Sales Increase, iPod May Decrease

The Cupertino based company is now enjoying an increase in sales of Mac OS X-based devices, says Piper Jaffray’s Gene Münster who shared an NPD data, via Business Insider. And this sale could be somehow influenced by the iPhone 5 launch factor.
The data claims that Mac sales are surging due to popularity of new Mac computers, like the quad-core iMacs, MacBook Pro and the new MacBook Air all introduced this year.
But also this data claims that the iPod sales are in decline. This isn’t a “shocker”, because the iPhone is a popular device, which is also an iPod Touch courtesy of the built-in iPod app of the iOS operating system. But, as the iPhone is getting more and more versatile, consumers tend to ignore the iPod. That’s why, I personally believe that iPod’s share will still going to decrease in favor of the iPhone.

Apple is expected to jumpstart its retail stores next month with the rumored new iPhone. According to Bloomberg, Sprint will help Apple in its smartphone fight this year. The new iPhone 5 is rumored to include 8-megapixel camera, dual-core processor and new iOS operating system that includes better notification and the iCloud online storage.
With the new iPhone, the iPod will most likely suffer more sales decline, but it looks like Apple is aware of that. It is also worth noting that Android-based smartphones and tablets are also popular in USA, so it is quite possible that these devices are giving the iPod some “dents.”
