But then Apple may be reviving the project again and the smaller SIM card used for the iPhone 4 and iPad maybe an indication that this might be implemented for the iPhone 4S and eventually for the iPhone 5. MacRumors suggests that this could be a “stop-gap” measure from Apple while waiting for the recently proposed smaller SIM card standard.
So, what are your take on this? Are you amenable for the next iPhone to become a SIM-less device. Don’t you find the small SIM used by the iPhone 4 and iPad too small enough? Come to think of it, is this really necessary? And what is Apple really up to? Smaller form factor for iPhone 4S and iPhone 5? Faster data services through smaller SIM?
Incidentally, the other points raised by the report were about the iPhone 4S carrying an ARM Cortex-A9 CPU which could still be single core or upgraded to dual-core. In addition, it was also said that the iPhone 4S will have an 8MP camera and 3-4 antennas that will accomodate dual modes of Verizon and AT&T. Now, those are the specs that we really want to hear and want more of.
