iPhone 5 To Have A Curved Glass Screen

This latest rumor comes from Digitimes who are citing their sources in Apples “secretive supply chain”. What they are claiming is that Apple are going to be using a curved glass screens in their forth coming iPhone 5, similar to the screen used in the iPod Nano

According to their sources, Apple have gone and purchased between 200-300 glass cutting machines to help speed up the process. Apparently current glass screen manufacturers are reluctant to go and purchase the equipment needed to produce these curved screens due to the high production costs involved.
This latest rumor goes against previous claims that the iPhone 5 will be the same form factor as the iPhone 4, but with just a few internal tweaks.
Other smartphones have already adopted the curved screen, most notable the HTC Sensation and Samsung Nexus S, the reason being that it’s comfier when holding it against your face.
