More Evidence of Global iPhone 4S/iPhone 5

Apple is planning to launch a „global phone” capable to run both on GSM and CDMA networks, rumors suggest. The smartphone will allegedly feature a SIM card slot “for countries except United States”, Apple Insider reports citing MacOtakara.
This means that users will be able to insert in the smartphone any SIM card they wish. These rumors have been recently brought back to life by the statement of Etisalat spokesman, claiming the UAE carrier will offer 4G compatible iPhone 5s in 2011.
“Yes, we are in talks with most smartphone manufacturers including Apple on the rollout of the 4G handset, iPhone 5 later this year,” stated Ali Al Ahmad, Etisalat’s spokesman.
The next iPhone 4S could bring a narrower “front receiver slit” and a smaller camera dent. Apple could also integrate an additional antenna to enable 802.11n wireless connections.
Global iPhone
The description made available by MacOtakara corresponds with a photo of the iPhone 4S posted by Global Direct Parts. The photo features a smartphone incorporating a middle-frame equipped with a SIM slot. The Cupertino giant quickly reacted to the posting of the photos saying that Global Direct Parts was thus breaking copyright law.
Apple is expected to roll out production for its next-generation iPhone somewhere in August and actually launch the product in September or October. The iPhone 4S/ iPhone 5 should not be too different from the current iPhone 4, many believe.
Some expect that new smartphone will offer an 8MP camera, while others tend to give credit to some recent iOS 5 “leaks” that suggest the actual 5MP camera will be present in the next iPhone, as well. As always, Apple has preferred to keep quiet and let the media create and comment the rumors, thus contributing to the tension and making Apple’s marketing department life much easier.
